chabash - Hebrew: חָבַשׁ

verb

to tie, to bind up, to bandage.

Art heals wounds that few other things can. The deep-rooted ones that we all carry with us. Art expresses emotions we cannot articulate ourselves. As we consume art in its various forms, we laugh, we cry, and we tap into what it means to be human. In unearthing deeper pieces of our humanity, art unites us. Groups of people whose paths would not otherwise cross come together in their love for albums, books, clothing, and other mediums.

I hope to use chabash as a lens through which I explore how art functions as a seam, binding people together. Think of chabash as a gallery, with each room devoted to a specific theme. In these rooms, I will weave fashion, music, literature, and photography into a tapestry that celebrates the creativity God blesses each human with while highlighting the threads that tie us together as bearers of his image.
